Free Shoe Clip Art: 1917 Women's Boot Fashion
I'm offering for the first time clip art that are .png files. I've posted shoe clip art before, but they were only in .jpg format. The versatility of .png files is perfect for digital projects. I hope you enjoy this shoe clip art!
There's more shoe clip art in .png format at The Antique Image.
Free Postcard Clip Art: Image of Back of Postcard
What elements make a good postcard back image? Both the handwritten message and the postage stamp with the post office mark.
Here are two more postcard back images at The Antique Image.
Free Clip Art of Girl: Antique Advertising Card for Acme Soap
This is a pretty antique advertising card with beautiful colors, but the sorrowful expression on the young girl's face has always confused me. She's got a basket full of goodies, and yet she isn't smiling. Perhaps she thinking of all the cleaning she's got to do with Acme Soap when she gets home ;-)

Free Valentine Clip Art: Couple Taking a Walk in the Park
There is a short poem printed on the bottom of this antique postcard; however it's not easily seen. This is what it says:
Keeping the appointment
The letter says, "Please meet me dear, at three in the park",
She goes and meets her postman there, they strolled around till dark.

Free Victorian Clip Art: Antique Die Cut of Girl Holding Cake
Free Image Finds: January 23, 2010
Last week the wonderful blogger of both Vintage Catnip and Catnip Studio Chronicles, Kathy, gave me an awesome shoutout and highlighted both of my free clip art blogs on her own free clip art blog. Well, I'd like to do the same for her. Not only to repay the kindness, but to share with all of you her lovely and inspirational talents as an artist and as a generous blogger, sharing her lovely antique images with all of us who love using them in our craft projects. I've enjoyed what she's posted so very much, and I know you're gonna do the same. She has certainly become one of my favorite bloggers!
Isn't this butterfly gorgeous?! I love butterfly clip art. Click on the butterfly to visit Kathy's site, Vintage Catnip and discover more goodies, and to download this image.
And, for some truly inspirational and beautiful ideas, visit Kathy's other site, Catnip Studio Chronicles, where she shares her artful talents. She's incredible! I know you're gonna enjoy both blogs and want to start creating right away!

Free Animal Clip Art: Illustration from Natural History Book
This is an antique, black and white illustration of a South American Ostrich taken from a natural history book in my personal collection.
There's more animal clip art over at The Antique Image.

Free Clip Art of Children: Storybook Black and White Illustration
Victorian children's storybooks are full of charming black and white illustrations. What I love doing with these images the most is making gift tags. I'll either leave them black and white or I'll color them in and then use a color coordinated ribbon.
Here's a free image of two boys playing in the snow.
Free Clip Art of Antique Silhouette: Girl Reading Book
Antique silhouettes are so charming. This silhouette of a girl reading a book was taken from a Victorian children's story book. I added the silhouette to this background, creating either notebook paper or a scrapbooking element.
Here's another antique silhouette at The Antique Image.
Scan from Victorian Children's Storybook: Dogs
Here's a page from a late Victorian children's storybook. I've often thought of framing the ones I have. With the bit of writing at the bottom, it would wonderful in a frame.
Check out two more scans of pages from the same book at The Antique Image.
How to Use Antique Clip Art: Gift Tags: Colorizing Black and White Illustrations
Here's an example of how I use some of the antique clip art I have. I've colorized this black and white illustration that I posted earlier, and then filled in the flowers and leaves with color on my computer. I've also colored the original image with colored pencils or ink pens after it's been printed out. It just depends on the look I want.
Free Clip Art: Design from Antique Book
One of my favorite sources of antique images is a book that was published in the late Victorian Era. It's filled with pretty little designs similar to the one I've posted today. They can be used in so many ways, especially after they've been colorized and filled in with color. Oh, the possibilities!
Free Shoe Clip Art: 1917 Women's Shoe Fashion
This antique shoe was known as the Baby Doll Pump. In 1917 a pair sold for $2.15.

Free Shoe Clip Art: 1917 Women's Shoe Fashion
Known as a Colonial Pump, a pair of these lovely women's shoes sold for $3.75 in 1917. And, they came in only one color, battleship grey. For a woman's shoe that's not a very danity description of that shade of grey. However, it was the "season's newest shade".
I've posted another beautiful bit of shoe clip art at The Antique Image.
Free Valentine Clip Art: Couple Kissing
Free Clip Art: Couple on Antique Postcard
Sorry, Buddy. Sometimes a girl's gotta do what she's got to do. However, I'm happy to see that this antique postcard was never used to send a young man that message.
I've posted a similar antique postcard at The Antique Image that could have been the precursor to this postcard ;-)
Free Antique Photographs: Hand-Colored Photos on Antique Postcards
Aren't these images uniquely lovely? These antique, hand-colored postcards are gorgeous. I haven't used these images in any projects yet, but wouldn't they be a pretty addition to a paper craft?
The other two images are at The Antique Image.
Free Background Paper: Handwritten Page from Journal
This background is a scan from an antique, handwritten journal that's full of poetry. The entries are dated between the years 1831 and 1838. There are several different writers that wrote entries in this journal as each poem looks so unique. The writing is just beautiful and so precise and makes for a lovely background.
I've posted a similar background at The Antique Image.
Free Background Paper: Scan from Old Book
This image is a scan of the back cover of an old children's book. It's distressed and dirty and makes for an interesting background paper for any craft project. I scrapbook quite a bit, and I'll use scans of old books as the decoration on photo mats for the scrapbook pages. I've always loved a vintage or antique theme when designing my pages.
Free Image of Black and White Photographs: Victorian Portraits
I just love the wear and tear on these antique photographs. They're perfect for a whimsical mixed media project!
There are two more antique photographs at The Antique Image.
Free Image of Antique Postcard: Antique Photograph of Woman
This antique postcard is similar to the one I posted yesterday. The model is in another position, but still makes for a mixed media artist's dream with all that negative space just begging to be filled with beautiful elements. And, I love how on each postcard there is just the hint of a stamp peeking out from the right side of the postcard.
